Reminder: Zombies Doing Good, Avon Zombie Walk Edition

Just putting a post up reminding our Indiana readers that there will be a fine Zombie walk in Avon this October benefiting a good cause and arranged by an inspiring young Zombie Ally:

The Avon Zombie Walk (AVZ) is a first year event which is being coordinated by eleven year old Jon Barker of Avon, Indiana.

From each zombie there is a requested donation of ten non-perishable food items. These food items will be donated to the Hendricks County Food Pantry Coalition to help feed the hungry in Hendricks County. Besides the AVZ, other events that are being offered are: a Thrill the World worldwide “Thriller” dance, a Zombie Cake Decorating Contest, a Pre-Walk Zombie Movie (all three are being held at the Avon Monster Mini Golf, and a Zombie Short Film Contest on Youtube. Thrill the World, Zombie Cake Contest and the Video contest are free and open to all ages.

The coordinator of the event. He is Jon Barker, He is 11 years old and has been a zombie fan from birth. He loves comic books, video games, movie make-up, Ultraman, Godzilla, and Lord of the Rings. He is a homeschooler and enjoys drawing, sculpting, karate and swimming. Yes, he is a self-admitted nerd who has wanted to start a zombie walk for three years.

We hope for a great turnout and applaud both the outreach effort and the outstanding parenting that must have gone into raising such an upstanding member of Living society.
