ZRC Review – Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, Episode 3

The theme song for this show should be, and is, in my heart, Dethklok’s ‘Murdertrain a Comin’. Just FYI.

Last week we saw that there are at least two quasi-Zombies in our cast, and as the train full of survivors barrels away from a city now Zombified (it’s like gentrifying, but with Zombies), there is conflict among those survivors about how to properly persecute them.

Groan.

KABANE 1X2 IN BETWEEN

Meanwhile the train’s passengers want to stop to offer prayers for their recently deceased family members…

KABANE 1X3 PRAYERS

..And a very suspicious pregnant lady is hiding out amongst the other passengers.

KABANE 1X2 UNBORN

Naturally the passenger’s suspicions falling on the Kabaneri (half-Zombies) prove to be a mistake when facing the prospect of an actual infected, soon to be Kabane amongst them.

And when the time comes, Mumei kills said person in a shocking act of Anti-Zombie solidarity.

KABANE 1X3 ACTION SHOT

Still, nobody should trust Mumei at least, because she forgot to mention that Kabaneri require regular human blood meals to live, and Ikoma nearly goes crazy and bitey from withdrawal. Oopsie.

These people display almost Robert Kirkman character levels of self-destructiveness.

Tune in next week for another episode of head-scratching Anti-Zombie prejudice, we suppose.
