ZRC Review – The Walking Dead Season 7, Episode 13

This week on The Walking Dead, we find out just how much mayhem and suffering can be caused by a single missing piece of fruit.

It’s all a bit For Want of a Nail, really.

Of course things aren’t so simple, thus must like the episode, we have to backtrack a bit from the opening.

As seen in previous weeks, there is increasing tension between the Saviors and the Kingdom, and Richard is actively working to sabotage their ‘peace’ deal. This week we learn that some of the Saviors seem to have the same idea, and one in particular was waiting for the Kingdom to give them an excuse.

Which they get when a fruit delivery turns up one melon short of the quota.

The Kingdom perhaps should have seen this coming. En route to the drop they found their path blocked by a suspicious barricade of shopping carts.

The carts pointed them toward an open grave with an ominous marker.

It turns out this was all a ruse by Richard; he stole a melon during the confusion and roadblock clearing, expecting the Saviors to kill him in reprisal. Then Ezekiel would be outraged enough to declare war.

Instead, someone else is killed, and Richard is left to make the most of his plan.

Until Morgan decides justice is more important than his no-killing pledge and, well…

Morgan’s a bit out there again. And worse, he’s harming the Undead population. For shame.

Things never work out very well for the Living or the Undead on this show.
