It’s always good to keep an eye on Tom Savini and George Romero; they pop up unexpectedly from time to time and when they do it’s rarely good for the Differently Animated, ‘Creepshow’ aside:

Tom Savini is a freaking legend, the guy has provided us with some of the greatest gore f/x for years, using simple things such as latex, syrup and possibly other house hold items instead of the now more commonly used technique of CGI.

Tom Savini has also done f/x work for another Australian flick Redd inc. which we have mentioned before, you can check it out HERE. Mary Doe is written and directed by Nick Nicolaou, check out the synopsis;

“A twelve-day trek across the desert and the insignificant form that is Mary Doe has exhausted all life within her. Rescued from death’s door, she finds herself abandoned with five men, in a decommissioned government facility used for testing biological weapons.

Lost with no memory of who she is and no placement in this world, she finds no reason to want to win her freedom — to journey BACK FROM THE DEAD…

Isolation breeds paranoia — no one can hide from their demons forever. As Mary unravels her past, the world she has fallen into crumbles down around her. The MUTANTS have found their way into the bunker. She has to gather her strength and find a reason to want to live — to want to get out of this HOLE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE.

Another movie bashing, apparently, Undead Mutants, with Tom Savini supplying the gore and no doubt plenty of extremely disturbing and violent effects to satisfy his legions of bloodthirsty fans. Nasty.

This also goes to show that nowhere is safe from the curse of Savini. One day it could be Pennsylvania, the next, Australia; he strikes seemingly at random.
